Lions of Communication
from you to me is also delighted to support the Lions of Bath 2010 – Pride in our City Charity.
A giant pride of 100 individually decorated, life-size lion sculptures took up residence in and around the World Heritage City of Bath from the end of May to mid September 2010 in a colourful cultural event to raise funds for local charities and bring a smile to the faces of residents and visitors alike.
The lion sculptures, sponsored by businesses, local communities and individuals, were decorated by artists using their skill and imagination to produce eye-catching artworks from the beautiful to the bizarre.
The lions remained on public display throughout the summer until the 'Lions Roar Goodbye' event when the pride gathered together in front of Bath’s world famous Royal Crescent for their public farewells before the Lions of Bath 2010 charity auctions.
All net profits from the Lions of Bath 2010 event are donated to:
The children's charity Off the Record, which supports children in need, particularly young carers aged 5-18;
The Quartet Community Foundation, which distributes funds to a wide range of local community projects, and
The Mayor of Bath's Relief Fund, which supports people in real need in the city.
Our own lion called ‘Lions of Communication’ took pride of place in The Circus in Bath. His mane was covered in questions and statements to make his visitors think about the ‘stories’ in their own life.

To advance and assist in education; to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life for those for whom the facilities are provided; to relieve sickness and disability and to preserve and protect health; and to promote any other purpose which is charitable according to English Law.
Through the Foundation we are developing further links with the local community including schools, colleges, universities, local clubs, businesses and the general public. This is being established through rugby coaching, education, confidence building projects and player appearances. Bath Rugby players are heavily involved with the Foundation’s work and act as role models to children who come from a variety of backgrounds.
The Foundation is currently working within the local area to assist young people, in particular those who are at risk of becoming socially disruptive and those excluded or potentially excluded from school.
